Though I own the Force and Destiny Starter set, I haven't had a chance to try it at an actual table. Maybe my opinion of it would change in a face to face game.
Unfortunately, there aren't any groups in my area, and I don't know enough about the system to try and organize one.

« Last post by Lex on February 19, 2018, 12:07:44 pm »I have to say that I think it's possible part of my lack of enthusiasm for the system is that I mainly played it online. I think it's likely this system is a lot more fun in person than online. Online play tends to drag a lot more, so the time the system adds to interpreting rolls seemed to really bog it down. That would be much less of an issue with in-person play, where it's much easier for everyone at the table to chime in on the results of a given roll.
For me, the jury is still out on this system. I still have ideas for a Star Wars campaign I'd like to run some time, but I want to run it in person.

He discusses how, why and when to use random encounters, and he explains how they don't really have to be random at all. A better term to describe how Lex, at least, uses these types of encounters is "flexible encounters".

Five years after the beginning of the Breaking of the World, the Time of Rifts and the Retreat of Humanity, a new team of adventurers leave the safety of the city of Elandria to explore rumors of a lone village somehow surviving in the Hinterlands to the east. Very few cities survived the Breaking, and it's believe no smaller settlements did. If there is a village out there, how has it survived on its own? The answer to this question could decide the fate of the thousands of refugees packing the streets of Elandria.

In some pretty aggressive ways. It is partly why I haven't gone back after my first few attempts at plating the game. I am glad they love it but you won't hear me brow beating anyone to play the systems and games I love.
Ugh, I very much dislike those people. You voiced your opinion and I respect that. Fück them and their "My game is the bestest evar!!!" bullshît.

I'm also excited to see some new lore and for the other tidbits that will undoubtedly be included in this new release. Will listen to the Dragon Talk episode and chime back in later...
