D&D Discussion / Re: Hinterlands of Elandria campaign

My only complaint (and I use that word loosely), is that each episode is an entire session. That makes each episode pretty long, time-wise. I prefer multiple shorter episodes over fewer longer ones.

I'm with you man.  I've just limited myself to listening (or watching on YouTube) for 45-60 minutes at a time.  :)
It's nice to have the whole session laid out if you have a long commute or significant downtime.

I've been unable to download or listen to anything from your podcast lately now.  Very odd.

Thanks Christopher,

It actually wouldn't be that hard to split the sessions up. That's what I did on the previous campaign I did an AP for, I split each session up into 45-60 minute parts. The main reasons I'm not doing that is that my RSS feed is limited to 100 episodes, and I don't want the AP dominating the feed. Also, each session has a rhythm, and dividing them up messes with that a bit.

I really hope people find the Behind the Screen commentary helpful. I have plans for more to do, but decided to hold off on producing more until I get some questions & feedback on the videos, so I know what people want me to talk about.

So far I'm loving it. I've started to listen to more and more live plays lately, and Hinterlands of Elandria is close to the top of the list.

What I enjoy most is hearing you talk about the game before/after on the non-AP and how it all comes full circle. For example, in episode 207 you talked about random/flexible encounters and how you used it in the game. And when you talked about it, I knew exactly what you were referencing.

My only complaint (and I use that word loosely), is that each episode is an entire session. That makes each episode pretty long, time-wise. I prefer multiple shorter episodes over fewer longer ones. But since live play isn't your main focus, I can understand that you just want to get the episodes out for us, and I appreciate that you're taking the extra time. Like I said, minor quibble.

Keep up the good works, man!

This looks great!  I don't play Genesys so I'm not familiar with some of the terms but the layout is clean and easy on the eye.  I'd be stoked to get something like this to start a new campaign.  Well done.

Thanks! The layout is stolen (almost) whole cloth from the core book. That way if you know what the book looks like you'll know what's what in my PDF.

The direct download links do work, so if you're having problems with those, it may be an issue with your device, app, or connection.

I'll keep my fingers crossed. I've tried a number of methods to listen to the last two episodes:

-Overcast App
-Streaming from Website (both on device and computer)
-Downloading from Website (both device and computer)

No luck so far...

Downloaded google play onto apple device but it isn't even finding your channel let alone the latest episodes. Can get the episode to stream using google play in browser on computer but not on browser on apple device...

Well there goes my listening for the day...

« Last post by Lex on February 22, 2018, 05:41:14 pm »
I'm releasing this episode early because I want you all to have as much time as possible to check out this awesome Kickstarter.

Matthew Colville rejoins Lex on the show today to discuss his upcoming D&D 5th edition supplement, Strongholds & Followers. This long-awaited tome is just part of Matt’s Kickstarter campaign, Strongholds & Streaming. The campaign is also providing some awesome gemstone dragon miniatures as well as studio space so Matt can produce a high-quality actual play of his next campaign.
